disabled housing HELP!

disabled housing HELP!

Postby lovelychips on Fri Nov 30, 2007 9:14 pm

:( I've been at the top of the housing list for years but houses that could be adapted to meet my needs always go to the ablebodied. To top that my council and the local housing associations are not building any houses for the disabled. I and my family (like many disabled people I have children) are just one of several on the housing list who are being left to rot!

Is this discrimination?

Dont quote me on this but i believe there is a ruling in Building Control that states 20% of new houses built must be accessible at least on the ground floor.

If I were you i'd contact the local council to ask and then contact your local MP, he wants your vote next time round and he has the power to get you housed.

Keep quiet and you will get nothing, scream and shout and you will get want you want (eventually)
